Disclosure of Affiliations

Our Board of Directors and management and staff generally must absent themselves from deliberations about grantees and vendors with whom they or their family members have a relationship. The code supplements this recusal duty by requiring public disclosure of these relationships.

Vendor Affiliations

The following list provides the names of vendors and the relationship within current Board, Investment Committee or staff members who have or have had an affiliation within the past three years.

  • Sarah Cooke, Atlantic’s Corporate Secretary, is the wife of David Cooke, a Partner at Conyers Dill & Pearman. Conyers Dill & Pearman provides legal advice to Atlantic in Bermuda.

Grantee Affiliations

The following list provides the names of grantees and the relationship with current Board or staff members who have or have had an affiliation within the past three years. A full description of the grants is in the Grants database.

Center for Community Change

  • Charles Feeney, the founder of Atlantic, is the father of Diane Feeney, a board member of the Center for Community Change.

Cornell University

  • Charles Feeney, the founder of Atlantic, is a Cornell University Presidential Councillor and a Life member of the Cornell University Council.

Harvard University

  • Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot, an Atlantic Board Member, is a Professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

Ithaca College

  • Charles Feeney, the founder of Atlantic, is the father of Caroleen Feeney, a board member of Ithaca College.

Media Impact Funders

  • Charles Feeney, the founder of Atlantic, is the father of Juliette Feeney-Timsit, a board member of Media Impact Funders.

Queen’s University of Belfast Foundation

  • William Hall, an Atlantic Board Member, is a former Professor of Microbiology at Queen’s University of Belfast.

University College Dublin

  • William Hall, an Atlantic Board Member, is Professor of Medical Microbiology, School of Medicine, University College Dublin.

University of Limerick Foundation

  • Charles Feeney, the founder of Atlantic, is a board member of the University of Limerick Foundation.
