David Walsh Chief Financial Officer
David Walsh is the Chief Financial Officer for The Atlantic Philanthropies. He is based in New York.
Mr. Walsh is responsible for the foundation’s investment and financial operations and reporting functions as well as providing finance-related support to Atlantic’s grantmaking. He also directs the budget and planning process, working with senior management to plan the allocation of Atlantic’s resources over its remaining life.
He joined Atlantic in 1995 as Vice President of General Atlantic Corporation, a holding company for the foundation’s operating businesses, where Mr. Walsh was responsible for the finance, tax and accounting functions. Over the years, he has served in various senior roles on the Finance team and contributed to a number of operations areas, including supervising Atlantic’s Grants Management and Office Services functions.
Mr. Walsh started his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. where, as a Tax Consulting Manager, he was responsible for providing tax consulting and accounting services to a diverse base of corporate and partnership clients. He qualified as a certified public accountant in 1987. Mr. Walsh also served as Vice President – Finance for Triumph Resources Corporation, an oil and gas investment firm.
He earned a BA in business from the College of William and Mary and an MBA in International Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
