Dear NFTE Supporters,
I am extremely excited to announce that two NFTE alumni have been chosen for this year’s BusinessWeek.com “America’s Best Young Entrepreneurs” Award!
• Ibtihaj “Ippy” Amatul Wadud, 19, a graduate from NFTE New England, is the owner of Ippy’s Islamic Fashions, which creates custom-made clothes for Islamic girls and women in seven states.
• Jasmine Lawrence, 17, from the NFTE New York Metro program, is the owner of Eden Body Works, an all-natural line of hair and body products, which are now sold in Wal-Mart and Whole Foods outlets.
Ippy and Jasmine were the two youngest entrepreneurs chosen for this prestigious award, where the other winners ranged in age from 21 to 26.
NFTE was the only educational institution to produce multiple winners in 2008!
In addition to announcing the top 25 award winners, BusinessWeek.com is also offering readers the chance to vote for the business they think has the most potential.
Please take a moment to view the slide show – the end of which you will have the opportunity to place your vote (the deadline is September 22nd).
The winners will be announced on September 26th.
This is a very proud moment for NFTE!
Warm regards,
Steve Mariotti
