The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) has launched the Asylum Information Database (AIDA) website, mapping asylum procedures, reception conditions and detention in 14 EU countries. The website is part of a project funded by EPIM and carried out in partnership with the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, the Forum Réfugiés-Cosi and the Irish Refugee Council.
With the aim of informing legal practitioners, policy makers, the media, researchers and the general public on asylum procedures, reception conditions and detention of asylum seekers, the website provides comparable, independent, and up-to date information on 14 EU member states (AT, BE, BG, DE, FR, GR, HU, IE, IT, MT, NL, PL, SE, UK) through country reports, comparative indicators, news, advocacy resources and video testimonies.
The launch of the website comes at a very good time as national level NGOs begin to equip themselves to better advocate for a good transposition of newly adopted (recast) EU asylum instruments. The AIDA website will be helpful for all those hoping to influence Member states to reflect the highest possible protection standards in their implementation of EU legislation.
European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) and Irish Refugee Council are Atlantic grantees. European Programme on Integration and Migration (EPIM) is an Atlantic grantee via Network of European Foundations for Innovative Cooperation.
