We share this video in celebration of the life of Irish composer, musician and educator Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, who died last week at the age of 67.
Ó Súilleabháin headed the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick (UL), which was built with support from Atlantic. Our founder Chuck Feeney backed this project because he thought Ó Súilleabháin was a visionary with enormous talent. At UL, Ó Súilleabháin created an international community of musicians, dancers and scholars and gave them a space to find their voices.
His music and leadership inspired and touched the lives of so many people. Our hearts go out to his family, colleagues and countless friends.
