More than 15,000 people marched in Cape Town on Monday to demand libraries, computer labs and other resources for township schools, many of which are vastly underequipped. Yoliswa Dwane, a spokeswoman for Equal Education, said that the government spent millions on the World Cup, but had not invested the same on basic education.
Equal Education is an Atlantic grantee.
