OECD Public Governance Reviews |
An assessment conducted by the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) of Northern Ireland’s public reform agenda credits the Atlantic Philanthropies with helping the government in its ongoing efforts to to transform and reform its public services to better meet the needs of its citizens.
Among the report’s findings:
- The work of Atlantic and its grantees in championing evidence-based policy making and service design has had wide impact
- Atlantic’s focus on prevention and early intervention services for children and on the importance of evaluating the benefits of these approaches has also been influential
- Atlantic partnerships with Northern Ireland government agencies helped create capacity that will enable this reform work to continue
The report also notes that Atlantic’s work with the government in Northern Ireland is one of the few examples of effective partnership working that investigators found over the course of their review.
The mission of the OECD is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.
