Goal
To support an enhanced minority recruitment and retention effort, particularly in engineering and natural sciences. Specifically, funds would be used to fill the newly created position entitled Associate Dean for Recruiting and Retention. This person would provide leadership and direction for all university-level minority programs, compile information about existing minority efforts, coordinate graduate minority recruiting, assist in enhancing undergraduate recruiting, assist with minority counseling, initiate new programming, seek outside funding for minority programs, and serve as a visible beacon for minority students.
